Halotran extinguishers are the replacement for Halon 1211 which was determined to be one of those chemicals that can harm the ozone layer. Like many other chemicals that are grouped with Halon 1211, their costs rose and supply was diminished.
Halon type gasses are a clean agent that works very well with electronic components. The chemical will not harm electronics and will actually clean the equipment. There will be no residue and clean up. All uses require the unit to be recharged.
The old Halon 1211 extinguishers are still available and are legal to use. At some point they will not be available due to the chemical not being manufactured any longer. We have used extinguishers at discounted prices as well as new Halon 1211 units from our fire extinguisher manufacturer Amerex Fire. Please contact us should you want the Halon 1211 extinguisher.
